PDF BELOW IS MY CHEAT SHEET TO WHAT YOU NEED TO CREATE AN EVENT
All of my event chip starts are Per USATF rules, video / gun time is used to determine prize money winners and time bonus recipients. Video/Tag time (chip time) will be used to determine all age-group. If you kicked it in the end and crossed the finish line before your head to head competitor and you obviously beat your competitor this will eliminate the chip start times. Gun Times will be used.
DURTI RUNNERS Recommends 5year age grouping to make it competitively fair for all ages.

The Problem: Manual Name Search
Time-Consuming: Searching for specific names on bags, asking for spelling, and matching them to bibs creates a "traffic jam" at the check-in table.
High Error Rate: This method often leads to volunteers misreading names or handing out the wrong packet, especially during rush times.
Staff Stress: It requires more focus from volunteers, reducing their ability to be welcoming and efficient. Webconnex +3
The Solution: Optimized "Pick and Go"
Event directors are increasingly moving toward methods that provide a much faster experience:
Pre-Stuffed Bags & Multi-Station Pickup: The most efficient method involves a multi-station process: Station 1 checks ID/scans barcode, Station 2 hands over the swag bag, Station 3 gives the shirt.
Dynamic Bib Assignment: Instead of finding a pre-bagged name, volunteers take the next bib from the top of the stack and assign it to the participant in the computer system on the spot.
Separate Shirt Table: Organizing shirts in labeled boxes by size and placing them separate from the bib pickup streamlines the process and allows for quick sizing adjustments.
QR Code Scanning: Using the RunSignup Check-in app, volunteers can scan a participant's QR code on their phone and instantly see their bib number and t-shirt size, reducing the need for manual name searches. RunSignup +4
For large events, it is recommended to use digital solutions like QR codes or dynamic assignment to avoid the very bottleneck.
